FAQs

The below are question we are most often asked.

How Fast Can you ship me a Motor?

At Diamondback Engines, we build custom engines one at a time — specific to our customer's needs. It generally will require 4 to 6-weeks (depending on season) from when an order is placed to when the engine is completed. Building a precision engine is far more time consuming to build than an assembly line crate motor — and as such, those wishing for us to build their next engine should plan in advance.

Do you pull or install engines?

We do not do installations or removals. If you are local we can recommend 2 shops that will. We are more than willing to answer any questions you may have pertaining to proper installation.

Do you Dyno all engines?

While we can certainly dyno test your engine, we do not do it automatically. We generally will discuss the need on a case by case basis and proceed from there.

Will you rebuild my stock engine?

We are in the business of building precision engines and cannot compete with assembly line stock rebuild shops. While we do some restoration type rebuilds, you are better served elsewhere on a generic rebuild. We can recommend good shops for persons local to us.

Will you build my engine consisting of parts I have acquired elsewhere?

Yes, contingent on inspecting the parts and discussing any fixes or alteration necessary.

Are your rotating assemblies balanced?

We can ship them balanced, but in many cases it is better for you to check fit and do any necessary clearance modification and then balance it locally. This avoids paying for the balancing twice.

Can you modify my existing Edelbrock carb?

Yes, providing it is in good shape.
