Shipping a Diamondback Engine

Diamondback Engines spends its time doing what we do best—building motors for our valued customers. That’s why to get our custom-built products to you, we leave the crating and shipping requirements to the experts. We ask that you make shipping arrangements on your own, but please keep in mind that our responsibility ends when turning over the undamaged item to the customer's shipper.

A couple of options for Shipping:

Domestic Crating & Shipping:

Heights Crating Company
6100 N Shepherd Dr
Houston, TX 77091
(713) 697-2000
Our Contact is Martha

Heights Crating Company will build and pack in a custom reusable crate. Additionally, Heights Crating arranges for transport to the desired destination, including international shipment. Shipping rates are variable, depending on size and weight of the crate, delivery location, fuel surcharge, insurance, etc.

Heights Crating requires prepayment before the crate is delivered. We have their credit card authorization form that we can email to you, or it can be faxed by Heights Crating.

For International Shipping:

Contact Gloria

Ask for Gloria Garcia and tell her this is for Diamondback Engines.

As of January 13, 2008, Gloria tells me that their rates are $75 per Cubic Meter to any port with a $125 minimum. Insurance is .5% of the declared value. Crating for a small block engine was about $200. They will need to be paid by Interbank Wire Transfer.

Wrap & Palletize:

Your next option is that we will put an engine on a Summit Racing Metal crate, wrap it in plastic wrap, and strap it to a heavy pallet with 4 new ratchet straps for $150. You then negotiate your best deal for your carrier to pick up from our shop, with your Bill of Lading. Many use FedEx Freight, but your company (or friend's company) might have a better arrangement with a local transport company.
