Who We Are: We specialize in building custom application Mopar engines for the drag racer wanting a precision engine with the proper combination of performance and durability for their racing requirements; and precision built engines for street/strip applications.

Diamondback Engines is a small company of just three working partners, not wanting to grow beyond that.  Our Machinist has 35 years of experience specializing in performance engine machining. Our Master Engine Builder has over 25 years building the best Mopar race engines. Our third partner is one of the best race carburetor builders you will ever find.

Our motors and carburetors are built in a small engine shop in Texas — and not slapped together by who knows who, at who knows where. It is our sole desire to hand assemble the very best Mopar motors one at a time — and not to crank them out on an assembly line. Our customers appreciate the quality control and attention to detail only found with those who will limit the number engines built to those built by the owners of the business. Who else will care as much about the company's name and reputation than the owners?

When not building race motors, we race. We run the very popular Nostalgia Super Stock 61 Plymouth known as Fugly. We live and breathe drag racing, and are at the track listening to what drag racers need.

Our Engines: Diamondback Engines doesn't just have a couple of standard formulas that is adapted to the customer, and we don't have engines that we can pull off the shelf and ship to the customer the same day. We don't believe our customers should compromise, so we discuss with our customers their detailed needs, and then assemble a quote a custom built engine meeting their exacting needs.

Just as a 5-star restaurant shouldn't be the place to go for a quick cheeseburger, order of fries and a hot apple pie sitting under a heat lamp — a precision engine builder shouldn't be the place to go for a quick crate motor. There are plenty of places to go for a quick crate motor at a discount place. However, If you want a precision engine built to your exact needs, using "Top Shelf" parts,  you need to properly plan ahead to allow for the assembly time required for a precision build by an in-demand engine builder.
